Ashley Alwood, MD
Dr. Alwood is a board-certified emergency physician with a diverse international career. She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and spent part of her childhood living in London. After completing her medical education at the University of Washington and residency at the University of Chicago, where she also trained as a Flight Physician, Dr. Alwood practiced in Chicago before moving to the Middle East. She contributed to establishing Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and later The View Hospital in Doha, Qatar, in affiliation with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she served as Head of the Emergency Department and a Clinical Assistant Professor.
Charles Duke, MD PhD
Dr. Duke is a practicing Emergency Medicine physician who has participated in altitude physiology research in Nepal and served with the National Park Service Denali Rangers on North America’s highest peak. He did his Emergency Medicine residency and Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. He has earned the Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, Diploma in Mountain Medicine, Diploma in Dive and Marine Medicine, and is a Master Diver. Now on the Big Island of Hawaii, his practice includes wilderness and tropical medicine.
Fun fact: He also has a PhD (in Organometallic Photochemistry!)
David Hoke, MD MBE
Dr. Hoke is a Board-Certified Emergency Physician, Bioethicist, and Physician Advisor at Good Samaritan Hospital. In this role, he serves as a liaison between the hospital administration and the medical staff, as well as between the hospital and insurance companies. He has participated in research committees at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania, as well as chair of a multi-system Ethics Committee. He has developed Professionalism Education including launching a residency in Charleston, SC. Clinically, he has worked in a multitude of environments, from rural critical access hospitals to trauma centers and elite concierge care groups. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Dr. Jessica Duke
Dr. Duke is an Emergency Physician on the Big Island of Hawaii. She was born in Rochester, NY, but spent 8 years of her childhood living in France and China. After graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Cornell University, Dr. Duke completed medical school at the Penn State College of Medicine. She did her residency training in Emergency Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during her final year of residency. She then went on to pursue a Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine, working with companies like National Geographic, the 4 Deserts Race series, and AdventureMed. She has completed her Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, Diploma in Mountain Medicine, and Diploma in Dive and Marine Medicine.
Elizabeth Krebs, MD MSc
Dr. Krebs is American Board of Emergency Medicine certified and completed fellowships in Global Health at Duke University and Emergency Ultrasound at The University of Pennsylvania. Prior to road safety improvement, research, and emergency medicine capacity building in Rwanda, Dr. Krebs was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Global Health at Thomas Jefferson University. She is a Fulbright Scholar and an NIH Fogarty Global Health Fellow, training as a paramedic and spending over a decade working in prehospital medicine prior to and during medical school. Dr. Krebs is pursuing American Board of Obesity Medicine certification to optimally leverage her personal experience for the benefit of her patients.
